Southasia Institute of Advanced Studies (SIAS) is a rapidly expanding research institute based in Kathmandu, Nepal. It aims to produce critical and pragmatic knowledge for social justice across South Asia and beyond, in areas such as public policy, development policy and practice, climate change politics, natural resource management, and local governance. More information and updates about SIAS and its activities can be found in www.sias-southasia.org .
One of the strategies SIAS has adopted is to bridge the knowledge divide between academic community and the everyday social practice. To this end, SIAS has sought to nurture University-research institute linkages. More specifically, SIAS has developed a Student Internship Program and hosted internship for Masters and PhD students from around the world, including the Universities in India, Australia, the United States and Europe for the past six years. Recently, we are going to expand this initiative to include more interns from South Asia as well as overseas.
This is an announcement for a call about the availability of internships for students who are pursuing their Masters degrees or are in the final year of Bachelor’s degree in areas such as development studies, environmental science, forestry , engineering and social sciences in Nepal.
Duration. Each intern is expected to work at SIAS for at least two months.
