Ms Sony BARAL holds  master degrees in the Mountain Forestry from  the University of of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Austria and Master of Arts in Social Science from Tribhuwan University of Nepal. She has more than 10 years of work experience in designing, implementing, monitoring of research and development projects/programme in forestry, climate change, disaster risk reduction, forest based enterprise development, and wetland conservation. Currently, she is  studying PhD at Institute of Silviculture, BOKU, Vienna under the supervision of Dr. Harald VACIK . Her research focus role of community forestry in green economy development from the ecological economic perspectives. Her research interests include sustainable management, economic valuation, policy analysis and governance studies in the natural resource management and allied sector.
